2019 was a year that promised a lot, but in the end proved less successful than it could have been. The Premier League team became the first team to win the Canale Cup back to back, but unfortunately just failed to make it to Finals.
James Baty's first full year in charge of the Premier League side showed he was an excellent choice to take over the reins. In 2020 James and Scott Hawkins will Coach the side.
2020 promises to be another challenging year, but we are in safe hands and remain with a quality group of players and Coaching staff.
Brisbane Womens Premier League
2019 was a phenomenal year for our top women's side. The team fell short of the Premiership by the goal difference. However, this fantastic achievement saw the Club gain promotion to the Brisbane Women's Premier League for the first time, heralding a new era for the Club.
The appointment of Kelvin Wheeler as Coach and the continuing support of Kate Lawson as Women's Football Director will see the continuing growth of female football at the Club assured.
In 2019, three of Grange Thistle’s four Men's City League teams played in Finals. The City 3 won both the Premiership and the Grand Final, while the City 5 side also won the Grand Final.
2020 sees the Club continues to go with the structure from City 3 to City 6
The Women's City 5 also made the Finals after an excellent year and we look forward to them returning in 2020.
Over 35s and O45s
Grange Thistle FC Over 35s and 45s
The Club is assessing the structure for 2020 and will confirm this in January.
New players welcome!
In 2019 Grange Thistle will field 2 Over 45 teams that will be competing in the Northside Soccer League Competition.
Over 35’s and 45's Football is a competition for over 35 and over 45 footballers and involving teams from the northern suburbs of Brisbane. The purpose of Over 35’s and 45's Football is to provide football players an opportunity to play local football, on a Friday night in a relaxed, social environment with mates.
Cost is $400
This is great opportunity top have a run around and to support the club in a very social arena.
If you or any of your friends (don't have to be Grange members) are interested in playing this year please email John with your phone and email details at email@example.com.
