Academy Programs - (U8-U12)

 

Grange Thistle are now working to develop a better quality of Coaches and coaching programs for players based in the North Brisbane area. As a strong community-based club in the North side of the city, Grange Thistle provides football programs for close to 1000 junior players at present. This allows Grange Thistle to work with other Clubs to ensure a pathway for talented children is provided for children participating in local community Clubs as well as FQPL and NPL players.

The Grange Roar Academy based out of Grange Thistle, will allow children from all football backgrounds,  to access high-quality coaching twice per week to supplement their existing football commitments. This program will be delivered by Grange Thistle’s credentialed coaches and will see Grange Thistle’s key technical staff undertake an apprenticeship working alongside our Academy teams to adopt and apply best practice.

Play for Grange Thistle.   Grange Roar Academy Teams (U8-U12) - 

 

The U8-U12 Grange Roar Academy teams will play in the Football Queensland competition and their season will begin in March and conclude in September. Prior to the season starting teams may participate in club organized trial games against other Football Clubs as well as sanctioned carnivals.

 

Players that have trialed successfully for an Academy place with Grange Thistle will train on Monday and Wednesday or Friday afternoons. Training will start at 4.30pm or 5.45pm depending on their age group, and all training sessions will take place at Lanham Park, Grange.

The U12 Grange Roar Academy teams will play in the U12 Football Queensland Competition. Their Draft Season will begin with Football Queensland grading competitions in March, with Competitions commencing in Late April. Finally, the competitions conclude at the end of August.
